Writing a vintage blog has its perks and this vintage sticker book: The Antiquarian Sticker Book: [Hardcover–Odd Dot; Illustrated edition, March 3, 2020] with over a thousand Victorian stickers is one of them. I was fortunate to be sent one from the publishers to review on this blog.
Each page is filled with gorgeous decorative and advertising imagery for a variety of uses. Most images hail from the Victorian, turn-of-the-century, art nouveau and art deco eras (which I featured in my 1920s time-travel murder-mystery romance The Flapper Affair) in classic vintage colors that will have any vintage lover or antique collector drooling.
The cover collage, set against the blue background and bound in hardback with a hand-stitched feel is the perfect elegant gift for any vintage or antique collector. The book is so beautiful you almost don’t want to peal the stickers off, but of course there are so many crafts projects that they could be used for.

The individual stickers are very sticky and lift cleanly, having nicely defined edges. Be careful though because in many of the vintage sticker designs there are often delicate protuberances, but I had no problems lifting them intact and didn’t tear a one. The sticker pages are backed by a repeating bird, flower, and deco design in yellow-gold that elevates the level of elegance in this book.
Having researched the publisher, Odd Dot Publishing, I found one other book by them that Girl in the Jitterbug Dress readers might also enjoy. You know we love fashion and beauty on the jitterbug dress blog so this one might be worth reviewing in the future: Make Your Own Beauty Masks: 38 Simple, All-Natural Recipes for Healthy Skin.
The other collection I found that was along the sames lines as this vintage sticker book was: Vintage Ephemera: From the Collection of Cavallini & Co. Kindle Edition by Brian Coleman (Author), William Wright. Not a sticker book, but a book of vintage images that I reckon any or my readers would also love.
The only drawbacks I could see, was the original price of $24.99, but that has dropped to $17.49 (at the time of writing this) which is great price for this collection of beauty. Also, the other drawback I found was, as an author, I wish the publishers would have credited the curator. The collection is spectacular, and I couldn’t have done better myself.
